A Winter Morning
Winter is undoubtedly the coldest season of the six seasons in Bangladesh. A winter morning is a cold morning of the winter season. This kind of morning is a pleasure because of its beautiful environment and delicious ‘Pitha” feast. However, it is also a misery for the people because of the shivering cold. First of all, there remains dense fog all around in winter mornings. Dewdrops fell on the grass and the leaves sparkle like pearls in the rays of the morning sun. This scene makes the earth look glamorous. By and large, people do not feel like leaving the bed early. They get up late when the sun, peeps through the pall of mist. The touch of the sun-rays make the birds and the beasts happy. Farmers start going to the fields to begin their day’s work. With the advancing sun, mist and fog disappear and the people shirk off the feeling of cold to set about their daily duties. In addition , a winter morning becomes more enjoyable when various delicious food items such as various Pithas as well as date juice and “Payesh” is served as breakfast . In contrast, people suffer in winter mornings if the weather is rough. Everything looks hazy in the mist of winter morning. As a result, the communication system is disrupted. And it causes much hardship to the people. Sometimes, cold waves blow throughout the country. People put on different kinds of warm clothes to protect themselves from cold. The old people and children shiver in cold. Those who are poor cannot afford warm cloths and so suffer from the bitter cold. The sun having risen, the old and the children enjoy basking in the sun to get rid of cold. The scene of a winter morning is very transitory. This scene starts disappearing as the day advances. Indeed, it is enjoyable for its beauty and festivity.
My Best Friend
We may have hundreds or a thousand friends, or even more. But there is only one friend on whom you can truly confide in and who is always there to help you in any difficult situation. I am lucky to have such a friend. His name is Ismail and I used to call him ‘Sheikh Shaheb’. He is very dear to me as he is the one who knows me deeply, is always by my side and helps me at any situation. He is the one who understands me most and feel my mood. He knows when I feel happy and when I feel very sad. He is also sad when I look sad, and he is also happy when I feel happy. He is the one who knows how to respond any kind of my mood, he knows how to comfort me. Moreover, he is a very faithful person and I can always rely on him. He is a nice person, a friend with whom you can share joy and sorrow. He is a man of character and he is polite and gentle in nature. He always encourages me in any good work. He is even the partner of my crimes. But he never leaves me alone if we get caught red-handed by our elders. Again, he is always by my side and always supports me for reaching what I want. I can find him when I am happy or I face failure. He is my best friend and I am lucky that I got be friends with such an amazing person.
Traffic Jam
The situation in which long line of vehicles get stuck on roads or streets is called traffic jam. Traffic Jam is a common affair in the big cities and towns of Bangladesh. It is a great problem which happens due to various reasons and also has a great number of impacts in the daily affairs of our country. There are many causes of traffic jam such as: narrowness of roads, significant number of vehicles, illiterate drivers etc. The main cause of this problem is the narrowness of roads and the large number of vehicles. Our vehicles have increased but our roads have not widened. Moreover, many unlicensed vehicles are allowed to ply on the road. Also, the drivers have little knowledge about traffic rules. The number of traffic police is insufficient. Therefore, parking here and there and overtaking tendency are not monitored well which also is a reason of traffic jam. It brings a great suffering to us. It kills our valuable time. We cannot reach school, college, office and hospital in time. However, the problem should be solved by taking effective steps like- widening roads, enforcing strict laws on plying vehicles on roads, training drivers properly etc. It is a duty of us all to be aware to solve this problem.
My Favourite Book
Since my boyhood I felt much pleasure in reading different types of books, especially story books by famous authors. I have great liking on a number of story books. Among those books my most favourite one is “The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes” written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I am so much fond of this book because of the suspense in its stories, interesting characters and the reflection of human wit. Firstly, each and every story portrays so much cleverness and skill that till the last moment it is not be possible to detect the criminal whom Sherlock Holmes is looking for. Secondly, the witty and intriguing characteristics of the protagonist Sherlock Holmes attracts me a lot. His friend, Dr. Watson is also a significant character who helps Sherlock Holmes in his missions. Lastly, the human sense of reasoning and implementing intelligence to solve mysteries by Sherlock Holmes provoke my wish to be a detective. I love to read this book every now and then. Certainly I have read this book more than hundred times yet I find new pleasure every time I read it.
The Journey I Remember Most
Some journeys are too memorable and we always remember them but some travel makes adverse impact on life, and it is erased by the sands of time. I always enjoy journey by train. The most memorable journey I had was on my last summer vacation while I was going to Sylhet from Dhaka by train. I enjoyed the journey most as it was my first journey by train. Observing the scenic beauty by the window and having my family members by me throughout the journey added more flavour to it. I have never availed on a train before and the journey was six hours long. I enjoyed the movement of train and its sound. It was an exciting journey. Another important memory of my journey was the beautiful sceneries that I enjoyed throughout the journey. I had looked from the window, and everything was running with the train across and running very swiftly to opposite direction. I was enjoying seeing all the scenes with a happy mind. By this time, the train was moving from the rural area, and I had seen the most of the houses, trees, and meadows with golden crops and other panoramic views with cheerful mind. Things came to my vision and disappeared in the blink of an eye. Moreover, my family members were with me. We chattered and laughed throughout the journey. We had different snacks during the journey. It was a pleasurable journey undoubtedly and I cherish to have this type of journey more in coming vacations.
