Once there lived a hare and a tortoise in a forest. They had good relationship. The hare often laughed at the tortoise as he moved slowly.

One day the tortoise said to the hare, "Dear friend, let us run a race." The hare laughed and said, "You will run a race with me. But you will be defeated. Ok as you wish, let us start running.” The hare ran fast. Soon he was far ahead of the tortoise.

As the hare came near the winning post, he thought, "The tortoise is far behind. Let me take a little rest before he comes. When he comes near, I shall run fast and cross the winning post before him. This will make him angry and it will be fun."

So the hare sat under a tree and slept. The tortoise slowly reached near the winning post and saw the hare sleeping. He waited for the hare to get up and have fun. After some time, the hare fell fast asleep. When he woke up, he saw the tortoise crossing the winning post.

The hare lost the race!
