A. What I dream to be A Work in groups. Read the following words. How are they related to dreams?

imagination, emotion, passion, obsessions, strong desire, colour, rosy, future, mind, brain, plan

Imagination : One must use imagination to visualize their dreams.
Emotion : One has to control their emotion in order to make their dream come true.
Passion : One has to follow their passion to reach their goal.
Obsessions : Obsession with one’s dream is not always positive.
Strong desire : Strong desire helps overcome obstacles in achieving our dreams.
Colour : People love to see colourful dreams.
Rosy : There are often differences between rosy dreams and harsh reality.
Future : Dreams should have future plans too.
Mind : Human mind can be focused towards realizing a dream.
Brain : We should trust the capability of our brain and utilize it to achieve our dream.
Plan : Without a plan, no dream can be turned into reality.

B. Work in groups, and discuss the following questions:

1. Do you consider dreams important for life? Why/ Why not?

Answer Yes, I consider dreams to be really important for life. Dreams keep us focused and help us set a goal to achieve.

2. What do you dream at this moment as a student?

Answer I dream to get admitted in a prestigious engineering university so that I can pursue a career as an engineer.

3. What, according to you is the dream of Bangladesh at present?

Answer Bangladesh, as a nation, currently dreams to reach the status of a developed country. It plans to move forward towards a technologically advanced ‘Digital Bangladesh’.

4. Give examples of some dreams that are commonly shared by Bangladesh as a nation.

Answer Some dreams that are commonly shared by Bangladesh as a nation are as follows:
• Turn Bangladesh into ‘Digital Bangladesh’
• Create an efficient transportation system
• Achieve economic solvency
• Achieve self-sufficiency in agriculture sector etc.

5. Do you think the world has any common dream? What is that?

Answer Yes, I think the world has a common dream and that is to turn into global village and lead a life of regional peace and harmony.

6. What does a part-time job allow you to do?

Answer I want to be a pilot in future. So, I am studying a lot to acquire good grades in the exams. I am also reading different magazines and articles about different aircrafts and how to fly them.

7. How can you find a strange job?

Answer By working hard for the people of Bangladesh, I can fulfill its dream. That is why I want to be a teacher. I think the first thing that a nation needs for its development is education. An educated group of people can turn into a potential manpower to any country. So, I want to educate people and contribute to fulfill the dream of my country.
