Ali : Hello Everyone, we are going to start a debate on the advantages and disadvantages of e-mail. Nadim will speak in favour of and Murad will speak against it. Mr. Rahman, our moderator, will decide the winner. First Nadim will start.

Nadim : Thank you honourable moderator, the opposition team and all others present here. In fact the advantages of e-mail are so many that all of them cannot be described in words.It is faster than a consentational letter and cheaper than an international mobile or telephone call. Besides, one can easily attatch CV, photo etc with an e-mail and can send it with online job application. Thus with the help of e-mail we can easily communicate with any company, institution or organization. Therefore, e-mail is the part and parcel of our daily life. Thank you.

Ali : Thank you Nadim, Now Murad, start please.

Murad : Thank you Everyone. The speaker in favour of e-mail has told us only about the positive sides of e-mail but perhaps he has forgotten the disadvantages. Nowadays, students are addicted to e-mail communication so much that it wastes their time. Besides, people often deceive others through e-mail by alluring them about lottery prize, business partnership etc. Most dangerous thing is that some harmful e-mails may spread virus in computer. Therefore, e-mail has disadvantages too. Thank you.

Mr. Rahman : Both of them have delivered very nice speech. But we have to remember that no technology is harmful unless men make it so. The disadvantages of e-mail are man-made problems. As it is a competition, we have to declare someone winner. In that case, today’s winner is Nadim but I also appreciate Murad’s speech.
