4. Who do you get help from to discharge the responsibilities you have listed in C1? How do they help you?
Answer My parents, teachers and elders help me in discharging my responsibilities towards parents, school and country. They help me in learning true values and responsibilities as a person and mentor me in becoming a responsible person.
5. Are there any difficulties in fulfilling the responsibilities? Briefly describe them.
Answer Yes, sometimes I face difficulties in fulfilling the responsibilities. I do not always have enough time and money, sometimes my friends are not cooperative when I need their help, and sometimes people misunderstand me when I try to help them.
6. Make a list of responsibilities other people have towards you. Briefly describe what might happen if they fail to fulfill the responsibilities.
Answer Here is a list of responsibilities other people have towards me:
a) Guide me if they think I am wrong but not criticize me
b) Respect me as a person and not look down on me
c) Help me when I need their help
d) Not deceive me or lead me in the wrong direction
e) Not to tell lies in front of me
If people fail to discharge their duties towards me I will be hurt and demotivated. Then I might lose the motivation to behave in a responsible manner.
7. (a) What rewards are you likely to get if you fulfill your responsibilities?
(b) What penalties or punishments may you get, if you do not carry out your responsibilities?
Answer (a) My parents and teachers will be proud of me. I will also earn respect in the society. Moreover, I will feel good about myself for being able to become the person everyone praises.
(b) If I fail to carry out my responsibilities, my parents and teachers will be ashamed of me, the society will disrespect me and I will not be able to have a peace of mind.
8. What responsibilities do you think you can perform well when you go on a class picnic or when your school stages a play as part of its annual prize-giving ceremony?
Answer When going on a picnic, I can keep the environment clean, look after the younger children and make sure that everyone has taken their meals. Similarly, during a stage play on the occasion of school’s annual prize-giving ceremony, I can oversee if everything is going alright, help the actors and look after the audience. I can make sure everyone is at ease and there is no chaos or noise around.
9. What are the differences between a responsible and an irresponsible person?
Answer A responsible person carefully carries out the responsibilities of a good citizen, while an irresponsible person does not.
10. Name five responsibilities that you perform as a member of your family.
Answer The responsibilities that I carry out in my family are taking care of my grandparents, helping my parents in the daily chores, doing the grocery, keeping the house clean and helping my younger sister with her study.
