The best friend
Introduction
A. Read the following story.
Once upon a time, there were two friends. One day they decided to go hunting. They went into the thick forest to hunt some wild rabbits. As the forest was dark, they felt scared, but each of them promised to stand by the other in any situation of fate. So, they kept on walking with some confidence in their mind.
They had not gone far when a wild bear came out from among the trees all of a sudden. One of the friends in great fear climbed up the nearest tree without caring to think what would happen to his friend.
His friend fell flat on the ground and held in his breath and pretended to be dead. The bear came up and sniffed him all over his body. Thinking the man to be dead, the bear walked off.
As the bear left, the friend who was on the tree came down and said, “Oh, you’re alive! Thank God that the bear didn’t harm you. My friend, what did the bear whisper into your ears?”
The friend replied, “It told me to be aware of friends who seek their own safety leaving the other in danger”.
Hence, we learn from the above story that “A friend in need is a friend indeed.”
