A2. Sometimes the question “Where are you from?” Can be asked in different ways but the answers are the same.
Read the following conversations.
i. Head teacher: Hello, Ratul. Welcome to the school. Where are you from?
Ratul: Hello, Sir. Thank you. I’m from Khulna.
ii. Class Teacher: Hi, Ratul. Welcome to the class. Where do you come from?
Ratul: Hello, teacher. Thank you. I’m from Khulna.
iii. Raihan: Hello, my name is Raihan. What’s yours?
Ratul: Hello, I’m Ratul.
Raihan: Nice to meet you Ratul. Where are you coming from?
Ratul: I’m from Khulna.
A4. Sometimes the question “Where are you coming from?” can have a different meaning. Read the conversation and notice the difference.
Rebeca: Hello, teacher. I’m Rebeca.
Teacher: Hi, Rebeca. I’m Rashid Ali. Your new physical instructor.
Rebeca: Nice to meet you sir. Where are you from ?
Teacher: I’m from Rajshahi.
Rebeca: And where are you coming from now?
Teacher: Right now, I’m coming from Lalmatia. I’m staying there with my elder brother.
